My name is Nina Pierce and I am a third-year undergraduate student at Boston University pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. In addition to my engineering degree, I have a concentration in Technological Innovation, and I take courses in the Questrom School of Business and College of Fine Arts Music Technology department.
The engineering curriculum at BU has given me experience in rapid prototyping, CAD software, circuit design, statistical analysis, creation of technical documents, proposal and policy writing, coding languages, among many other things. Additionally, I’ve learned a great amount through my laboratory coursework in DNA purification, PCR, gel electrophoresis, cell culture, clinical/experimental design, and maintaining an ELN.
I have an interest in product management and upstream product development, where I aim to use my background in technical engineering and passion for inter-disciplinary collaboration to hone my capabilities in the biotech space. Recently at BU, I’ve been a proud member of the world’s largest professional technology fraternity, Kappa Theta Pi, where I’ve been able to grow my skills in data science, coding, and technological development.
Outside of academics, I’m a barista at Ten One Tea House in Harvard Square, a music columnist for the BU Buzz Magazine, and a musician. I enjoy singing, playing the piano and guitar, and electronic composition and production for my band.
I am very committed to my crafts, putting my all into every aspect of my life. I love to learn and meet new people, and I’m very eager about my career in such a powerful and innovative industry!
